What You Are After

I love you, I can't live without you.
This line has been around forever.
It's just a line and that's the truth.
People believe what they prefer,
But do you get what you're after?

People mouth to let words crawl into your ears;
Calling you a fool, telling you all the rules.
You listened, you begged to let go of your woes.
You patiently followed and played by the books,
But do you get what you're after?

Sweet words and persuasions charmed your heart.
Poison sets in, reality becomes the opposed enemy.
When things don't go your way, you did your part,
You've tried everything in or beyond your realm.
But still, do you get what you're after?

As many heart breaks and disappointments thief;
It rips and steal away hopes and happiness.
As for long as daring dreams and thirsty desires live,
It doesn't stop the ever living humans to be hopeful.
And then, do you get what you're after?

When hopes and dreams blew its horns,
With strength and ready to stand for victory.
Just so you know, it's bittersweet with thorns;
Thorns don't just go away, fight or come to grief.
That's because you might not always get what you're after.
Give yourself a chance, you may get more than you're after.
