Following Trails

He walks down the road; he is heading to a direction. She walks right behind him; following his footsteps wherever he goes. There is a distance between the both of them, approximately a foot or two. His steps are broad and rapid. Her steps are small and slow; like floating on water, almost not touching the ground. Wherever he goes, there she follows. He probably doesn’t notice her. She is watchful and dying for his attention. He doesn’t notice her at all. She’s like a protector, an invisible companion. She has long hair, down to her waist. She is pale and a pair of oval phoenix eyes on her sweet face. She has a pair of pinkish red lips; she whispers into his ears like soft music. She looks like a princess from ancient China; an ancient beauty. She wears a lacy white dress; knee length with a peony ribbon on the back.

She sensed trouble.

He didn’t know what is next ahead of him; it will change his life forever. She fluttered her lashes, little snowflakes surfaced and floating. These little snowflakes float its way onto his eyes. His eyesight is being blocked. He is shocked and wondering what is happening. He is about to shout, she waves her hands in the air; movements like plucking a Chinese zither.  His lips are then sealed. He got into a panic and he is struggling like a fish out of water. She pouts her lips and lightly blew some air; the cool air makes its way and spirals all over his body.  The cool air has a calming effect on him. He suddenly finds himself not struggling anymore; just paused and relaxed. She reached for his head, gently holds the side of his face; her lips are close to his ear, she whispered. His eyes grew bigger; he was in disbelief. Her fingers are about to tap his ears...

The skies grew darker. Thunderous roars and sharp blade-like lightning stabbing its way out of the clouds. Time suddenly stopped, everyone is as still as statues. A giant figure landed on the ground. His landing caused a minor earthquake. She flew to him and her sweet face turned like an angry fire, her eyes were staring at his face; firm and serious. She gracefully bowed at him, he greets her back. “Go back to where you belong! Now!” she hissed. He lets out a cynical laugh, he raised an eyebrow. He lowered his body and fiercely looking into her eyes. “I have a duty to fulfil.” he sternly said.
